This summer, I'm trying to make some money for New York Comic Con this year and for school.  So, I decided that to do cosplay picture commissions.  Here's the list of costumes I currently have:

On June 25th, I went to 161st Street, outside of Yankee Stadium for Party City's first ever Morphsuit Flash Mob.  A morphsuit is a full bodysuit in different color such as green, black, and red.  You can see and breathe easily with the morphsuits on and you can drink through them.  Morphsuits are originally sold in the U.K., but now Party City sells them in the U.S.  

When I got there, I put on my green morphsuit and participated in the morphsuit dance with other morphsuit people.  I made some new friends at the flash mob.  This wednesday, I'm planning to walk around in the city in my morphsuit with my friend Nina, who I met at the flash mob.  Here's a video of my vlog at the flash mob: www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2Dqlw…

This morning, I met up with my friend Lydi-Lydi at Kinokuniya in 42nd Street to do a photo shoot with her.  It was scheduled for tomorrow, but I chose today because on friday, there are going to be shattered thunderstorms.  I didn't want to take a chance to doing the shoot on a rainy day.  

At Kinokuniya, I waited for Lydi-Lydi to change into her Tron Bonne costume from Megaman Legends and Marvel Vs. Capcom 3.  From there, we walked to Toys R Us for the first part of the shoot.  We went to the video games section since Tron Bonne is a video game character and to the toys tools section since Tron is into tools and inventions.  I took a few funny pics near the Marvel section.  After that, we went to the Nintendo Store where I got a good pic of Tron playing an Nintendo 3DS.

After that, Lydi-Lydi changed into her Panty costume, the Bitch in Black version from Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt.  The shoot was fun and amazing!  Lydi-Lydi and I had a great time!  We had a good conversation about Durarara!!, Japan, and our plans for the summer and upcoming conventions.  I uploaded some of the pics from the photo shoot today.  The whole set is up on my Flickr account. www.flickr.com/photos/35364787…

I haven't been updating my journal entries for a while but I'll give a quick recap of what I did in the past months.

On April 10th, I went to Castle Point Anime Convention in New Jersey.  It was my first out-of-state convention and the reason I went there was to take photos of cosplayers there because I was working on my Cosplay photography project my digital photography class.  I uploaded a few pics so far on my account and on my flickr account.  www.flickr.com/photos/35364787…

On April 16th, Taking Back Sunday performed at my college for its spring concert.  I went to the concert with my friends and stayed at the show until 11.  It was raining at that time.  After the concert, we went back to our dorm where we ordered pizza, watched some DVDs.  I also created a Tumblr account.  My username is pikaman206, the same as my DA account.  If you are interested, follow me. www.tumblr.com/tumblelog/pikam…

On April 30th, I went to the Sakura Matsuri festival at Brooklyn Botanical Garden.  I cosplayed again as Monkey D. Luffy from One Piece and I also took more pics of cosplayers for my project.

Around May, my first year of college came to an end.  I've watched the movie Thor and it was awesome.  I was disappointed of how big the Frost Giants were.  They were supposed to be King Kong sized but they were in avatar size.  A week after I saw Thor, I went the Big Apple Comic Con 2011: Spring Edition.  I went there as Spider-Man.  Few of my friends were there in costumes as well.  Cassandra cosplayed as Vampire Jubilee and her friend cosplayed as Rogue, Sergio was Spider-Man, among the group of Spider-Men, Gala was Batgirl, and Krista and her boyfriend cosplayed as Psylocke and Iron Fist.  The con was great!  I was able to get the graphic novels and action figure I wanted.  The cons of the con was that the building of where the con was held at was hot!  There was like no ACs!  It was so hot, that I had to take off my mask and step out of the building for some fresh air.  Pics of the Big Apple Comic Con are uploaded on my flickr account: www.flickr.com/photos/35364787…

Right now, I'm home for the summer, looking for a job for the summer, and trying to save money for a pass and new costume for NYCC this year.
